Great write-up Todd as always. I like the reference for Mahomes for the discount, though he was awful last night (as were the Chiefs as a whole). There has been a lot of talk about how the Sabres were angry at the NHL for having to play those two matinee games against the Devils despite all those players entering COVID protocol (before and after those games). Is there anything the NHL can realistically do here, because while I understand the Sabres' ire here, I'm not sure if there is any recourse? I am a big Devils fan and I am happy to see them playing again, but I don't really think it was a good idea for both of those games to be played, especially the Sunday game.

I don't really think there can/will be any punishment, if that is what you're asking. Not unless something can be proven that the Devils didn't follow protocol.

I was asking about potential punishment from the NHL because you’d think they’d want to look into it. I agree with your stance on what the league can/will do. Thank you for your response.

Nico's injury had to have been a lot more significant than they let on when it happened back in December. Even with this extra week off it doesn't seem like he is going to be back soon (or at least I haven't seen any stories that suggest he's close to returning). Factor in when it happened and this is turning into a 2+ month long absence. Hoping it was just a bad break and not anything muscular.

Bratt just needs to stay healthy and he will have a fantastic season. Going into this season I thought him and Nico were a lock. Now that I have seen him with Hughes. I don’t want to see them split up. Bratt is really the only guy that can be moved anywhere in the lineup and have success. Plays well with Zacha. Plays well with Nico. Plays well with Jack. I know last year early on he played with Zajac in pre season. I thought they were great together and had potential as a line with boqvist. I hate to compare him to Hall. But I really see him being an impact player like Hall, with only a better shot.

1. The defense jumping into plays has been noticeable all year. Last year it seemed like every time we brought the puck into the zone our D were still hanging around our own blueline.

2. From what I understand Palmieri has been taking a lot of shots, but they're poor quality. Everyone is hoping that full roster + healthy Nico = Palmieri playing well, but if that doesn't happen do we start to panic? He just hit 29 and goal scorers typically don't age well.

3. Bratt's been criminally underrated for a long time. His presence on the ice is such a calming factor during the game. Also doesn't hurt that he found immediate chemistry with Hughes and Johnsson. I agree, we need to lock him up long term asap.

4. Yegor came out flying his first couple games but as soon as the lines got juggled he has seemed lost in the shuffle in most of the games. I think him finding a stable spot in the lineup will help his game come out.
