Outstanding work as usual. Love the data. You need to repost this next spring.

Your best work yet. It’d be absolutely insane if he doesn’t make it

I always thought it was mogilny who was the best forward not inducted yet but this makes a good case for patty too. He's definitely better than the sedins

Yeah he is another one that should be in for sure. Those Buffalo seasons were unreal when he cracked into the league.

Completely unacceptable that Elias is still not in. I haven’t looked over the other draft classes since being eligible, but this year? He was far and away the best player available and he wasn’t taken. It’s bull$#it.

One of the knocks people on Twitter were giving was he never won any individual awards. Neither did Marian Hossa and he was a first ballot HOFer. Also, nobody seems to be mentioning he converted from wing to center in his 30s and still dominated.

What an article. I get New Jersey’s every year. But I still only wear my CCM 26 to games.

The first lock out killed patty. That lockout doesn’t happen, he doesn’t play in those bush leagues and gets hepatitis.

He comes back and is legendary. Like point per game. And says he felt like that period was the worst hockey of his career. That is a super star in his time. Guy thought he was playing terrible hockey putting up point per game.

Little funny side note- I heard a Travis Zajac story one time of him and Elias getting stuck on the side of one of our NJ highway systems during a snow storm thinking this was the end for the two of them. Not funny at the time.

Thank you so much for this article.

Good article. Patty has always been under appreciated in the NHL even though he was absolutely dominant. Only reason he flies under the radar bc of how much he also contributed defensively, which can be hard to quantity in those days. I often wonder how many points he would have put up if he was on an offense first team. I bet he'd be a first ballot HOFer then. Either way 26 was my first devils jersey, I still have mustard stains on my jersey from the 2003 playoffs games I went to and he'll always be my favorite devil.
