It's like what a couple hundred thou over the league minimum for a vet that provides protection and does face punching (and receives them.) Chill out.

IMHO, Fitz gave him the term because it will make it easier to send him to the minors, as other teams won't want to pick up the term even with a relatively low salary. And when he is in the minors, his cap hit is completely buried. So, really, this deal is perfectly fine. We can send him down any time we want, at least this year when there's plenty of term remaining, and call him up anytime we need him, and when he'd down on the farm his salary will not affect the Devs cap at all. I'm fine with it.

Our young, small skilled need the protection so for the amount of money it is a good deal.

There are still many western teams that are very physical and Eastern teams that have at least one thug. MacDermid's size and willingness to fight is worthwhile.

Good article Todd.

Jfresh has macdermid as above 80th percentile in goals, really looking to see him attached to jack to open the season and see what they can do together

Fitz is destroying this team. Brendan Smith. Lindy Ruffy. Loses Sharangovich for nothing. Who wouldn't nullify that Haula / Zacha trade? Palat deal was Hextallish. Still no goalie. Outside of 2 foot putts this guy has been a disaster.

If that's the case then why didn't other teams like Carolina and Vegas get him? They wanted him too.

Was this guy even in high demand on the market? Hard to imagine we really had to sign him for 3 years to land him. I would have felt like even 2 years would be longer than I'd want him signed.
