Todd I disagree that it’s of “little risk to Hall”. If he suffers a bad injury you could all but guarantee he’s got NO chance at a long term big money contract.

Side note, I’d love to know what the contract was that the Devils offered.🤔

From reports I read it sounded like the devils never offered him a contract. Either shero didn't feel hall fit in the window the young core would develop or he saw hall's agent play hard ball with toronto and Nylander and didn't want to deal with him because he knew he would be asking for dumb money and term.

They say a lotta things when plans don’t work out. I know they said “they had discussions”. I’m sure the basic dollars and frame work were discussed. Anyway my reason for wanting to know is I wonder if he’ll ever get anything close to that now?

Yeah im sure dollars amounts were at least loosly discussed. My guess is that during those discussions hall's agent probably said he's looking for max term and more than panarin money. Shero maybe realized they were on different planets with the type of offer he had in mind and decided to not even offer a contract. But with your question, would he had made more money signing with the devils? I think absolutely. If he was willing to do 7.5m or maybe even 8m for max term I'd have to think shero would have made that deal. Now with covid I dont see him making over 60mill the rest of his career.

100% agree

I like the signing for Buffalo as it looks that hall is taking all the risk. I imagine that the cap situation in the league probably won't change too much next off season and if hall struggles with injuries again, even if they are fluke injures, no one will want to sign him for big money or long term. Either way I wish him luck. After moving to AZ it was cool to see him get moved out here as well and with the mvp season he'll always be one of my favorite players.
