Blackwood started it in spectacular fashion, putting up insanely good numbers on a nightly basis and holding the Boston Bruins to zero even-strength goals through their first few meetings.
The depth of the drop-off in their special teams this year is absolutely insane. They were never a playoff team, but it would have been a heck of a lot closer if they were even average on both sides. I know they want some continuity on the staff but I really don't know how they can run the same coaches back with the results they generated. They cant possibly be any worse on special teams next year, so would canning Recchi and Nas really be that disruptive?
I hate rooting to lose but at this point I hope they don’t win another game. I would love Power or Hughes, but any of the top 4 D would be great for us. With that said I don’t know how you keep this staff together after watching the special teams all season.
Seeing Foote get more playing time would be great, hope he can handle it
Could also give him a few more games to get used to the speed, then send him down to work on a few things. Would give him a chance to work with Holtz. Maybe those two could replace Janne and Yegor on Hughes wings next season
