It's refreshing, but if we can get a guy like a Savard, that will never step foot on the ice with the team, for an asset. I'd still have a hard time saying no. Taking on a Loui Ericksson is a disaster, because he's still playing and just clogging up an already muddled roster.
that's fair. I don't mind some dead cap *after* the Devils have done all their off-season shopping. If it will eat into the real dollars they're willing to spend, though, I'm firmly against it.
Agreed. I get that weaponizing cap shouldn't be a solution every offseason, becoming a dumping ground for contending teams, but this offseason with the flat cap + expansion looming, has to have Fitz perking up a bit.
