Jesper Boqvist
It took parts of three seasons but Jesper Boqvist finally seems to be establishing himself as an everyday NHL player; and not just one capable of playing for a bad team.
Boqvist has taken off in the ~month since the last stock report. He has been super efficient at 5v5, recording 2.78 points per 60 minutes. Small sample size, of course, but that’s high-end 1st line production.
Jack Hughes and Dawson Mercer are the only regulars on the team who have generated xG at a higher rate in that time. Boqvist has played very well offensively.
His on-ice impacts are strong as well. The Devils controlled a whopping 59% of the expected goals with Boqvist on the ice at 5v5, good for 1st on the team. Oh, and he also lead the Devils in average Game Score.
