At this point I want to see Allen getting the majority of starts unless Marky can prove he can provide even average goaltending.

Two problems - one, he's been bad lately, too, and two, he historically breaks down under a heavier workload.

Not good. Extended why? This could spell the end for Tom.

I genuinely think Brodeur has to go. He's the one who brought in Rogalski, he's the one who championed Markstrom. His influence seems to be a negative one for the Devils.

If fitz doesn’t make a move soon, he should be fired before the season ends. He’s been too passive with trying to improve this roster or just waiting on guys to come back.

He seems to have trouble with shots with speed. He has got beat several times on blasts that go right through him. Allen, they seem to want to get moving side to side and beat between the legs

A cynic would say Fitz has more loyalty to the players/players union than mgmt and the fanbase. As a former player, it may be true. Everyone's window on earnings eventually closes and need to make hay in the sunshine, and he is happy to help

That extension is looking like fitzgerald's worst move since taking over in jersey. I get some goalies go through cold streaks but he's had like 2 good games this season. It was very telling fitzy put that deal on the table and Marky wants to wait then suddenly is running to the table to sign it.

Like he realized he sucked and can't play at the same level anymore.

I think Fitz and Marty have been enamored with this guy since well before he became a Devil and I feel like that has clouded their judgement since he got here. They really think he's elite. Maybe that was true during certain points during his career, but he's never been consistency elite and now it seems age it catching up. It almost feels like it doesn't matter how well Allen plays, they always think of Markstrom as 'their guy' and in turn, treat him like a clear number 1 goalie. I feel like there is always an effort to play him so he can find his game, and they ignore when Allen is playing better.
