Five things to watch when the New Jersey Devils play host to the Vegas Golden Knights:
The shooting machine
Max Pacioretty has always been a volume shooter who can score goals in bunches. But he is taking his game to new heights in the early going.
The veteran winger has piled up 19 points (12 goals, seven assists) through just 11 games. He has recorded at least two points in six of his last seven and scored *checks notes* 10 times in that span.
While Pacioretty’s shooting percentage is a little out of whack, he has always been a high-end finisher. He is full value for this scoring bender, averaging a whopping 5.6 shots on goal per contest.
If the Devils are careless with the puck, and part defensively like they did in Philadelphia, Pacioretty is certainly going to make them pay.
