I love the Devils, Nico and Jack... but comparing them the McDavid and Draisaitl is outlandish. Those are arguably the two best centers in the world. Jack is not there yet and Nico is... just not. Star players, yes. Superstars of that caliber, they fall short.
Evolving-Hockey projects Jack Hughes as more valuable than Leon Draisaitl so it's not as outlandish as you think. But I agree in general that the Oilers guys are much better combined, and I don't think I implied otherwise at any point in this piece.
Will be interesting to see how much we use them this year. With such awful goaltending we were always playing from behind. That meant get your best scorers out there as much as possible. If we're playing with a lead regularly we can put our 3rd & 4th lines out there more often. Don't wear them out for the playoffs. 18-19 should be plenty

Lots of 3Cs put together point per game 2nd half’s, from my experience. Those people are right on the money!!!
