Here are a few observations from New Jersey’s 3-2 victory over Seattle:
Jack Hughes continuing to evolve
Jack Hughes was lights out against the Kraken, continuing his red hot scoring streak with a fourth consecutive multi point game.
Hughes had two assists and completely dominated every aspect of the game from start to finish.
From the opening puck drop it felt like we were experiencing a Jack Hughes clinic. Jack seemed to be everywhere all at once.
We have heard a lot this year from Sheldon Keefe about Jack’s defensive development and I believe we saw all of that come to fruition against the Kraken on Friday night.
Jack had multiple key takeaways in this game, including one late in the 2nd period where it led him to a breakaway chance and a penalty sending the Devils to the power play.
Additionally, Jack led all players in shot contributions with a total of 13, and ranked first among all Devils forwards with just over 79% xGF at 5v5.
