Welcome to Infernal Access
I have been blogging about hockey for a long time.
I hadn’t reached high school when I first started my own website. I was just 16 years old when Eklund took a chance – way back in 2011 – and gave me my first paid opportunity writing about the New Jersey Devils for Hockeybuzz.
Back then I didn’t even use a profile picture of myself on Twitter or any other platform. I worried I was too young for readers to take me, or anything I reported, seriously and I just couldn’t risk that.
I poured everything I had into hockey. I didn’t want a young face, or a stupid number, to take away from all my efforts.
I never had a real, shift-work job growing up. I never attended all the big parties in high school. Heck, I chose not to go to my own prom. And I don’t regret it.
As crazy as that may sound, there was simply no way I was missing a game from the Devils-Rangers series during the former’s magical run in 2012. Hockey, and the Devils, were that important to me. They are that important to me.
When I first started writing, I didn’t know where it would lead me. All I knew was I loved hockey, I loved sharing my opinions, and having a platform to do so was the coolest thing ever to me. It still is.
That’s why I’ve decided to take a leap of faith and start my own website here on Substack.
I wanted to create the dream spot for me as a Devils-focused content creator. Somewhere I could write about what I want when I want. Somewhere I didn’t need to worry about catchy titles, view counts, or anything else. No blog post, thought, or idea will be too small nor too big. And I love that.
I also love the idea of creating the dream spot for Devils fans. A spot where they could get opinions on anything and everything happening with the team. A spot where they could share their own and be part of a passionate community.
And that’s my goal with Infernal Access. I want to make this a dream destination for Devils fans. I want to make this the kind of website you race to when your boss isn’t around at work, or the first place you visit when you’re given ‘research time’ in class for a project.
With your help, and support, I believe I can do that.
So what will you be getting with a subscription to Infernal Access?
As much I can possibly provide. That means analysis and opinions on every move – big or small – the Devils make. That means weekly Q&A posts to ensure any questions, or topics, you want touched on get touched on. That means a Discord group chat for Infernal Access readers to talk to me, and fellow fans, about prospects, transactions, games, and anything you can think of (link here). That means access to data tracking I do; be it focused on a game, prospect, or part of a bigger project. I have an abundance of unique ideas for the future, too.
I’ll do everything in my power to provide the Devils content you want and crave because, quite frankly, I work for you now. You are my boss and it’s my job to make sure you’re happy.
I won’t let you down and I hope you’ll give me the chance to prove that by subscribing.
For those who get in now, there will be an early bird discount. If your budget doesn’t afford a subscription during these tough times, you will still be able to access one free article each week so stay tuned for those.
Let’s do this!
